Three Things

Most brokerage firms and financial advisors rarely publish their fees. Why? Your search for an advisor is hard enough without the games. We believe in openness and transparency, so we’ve listed our fee schedule below.

Our business efficiencies and low-overhead allow us to pass on cost savings to our clients. While cost should not be your only factor when choosing an advisor, it is an important consideration. Our fee schedule is very competitive, and reflects our commitment to keep your costs down.

Remember, the fees we collect from our clients are the only compensation we receive. We do NOT receive commissions, referral fees, sales-incentive vacations, or other company kickbacks.

Financial planning and investment management are separate services and each has their own fee schedule.

Other Fees

You may incur fees in addition to the ones paid to Blue Water. For instance, your other advisors such as your CPA and/or Attorney will charge their own fees for their advice and consultation services.

Regarding investment management, in addition to the Blue Water advisory fee (discussed above) there are two other costs to investing:

Portfolio expenses: There are no upfront or deferred sales charges. The expense ratios of the portfolios we construct typically range from 0.30% - 0.43% depending on the stock-to-bond ratio.

Custodian expenses: Trades generally range from $10 and $24 depending on if they are stock or mutual fund trades.

To use, enter an investment amount and select a portfolio.  The number in the hypothetical portfolio corresponds to the percentage of stocks, i.e. Blue Water 60 has 60% stocks and 40% bonds.

Our recommendations will be based on many factors and your recommended portfolio may differ from the one selected. Transaction charges are not included because they are difficult to estimate due to their irregular nature. A certain amount of transactions may be necessary in the beginning to implement the portfolio. However, after implementation, it is possible that only periodic transactions are necessary. The circumstances for each client are different.
