Focus Plan
Many advisors only offer an in-depth comprehensive financial plan. While we believe that a Comprehensive Financial Review is very important, we also understand that some people only need a thorough review in a few key areas. We have designed the Focus Plan with those people in mind.
The Focus Plan is a one-time financial planning session lasting between 2 and 2.5 hours. It is not typically a comprehensive plan, but can serve as a second opinion, financial check-up, or a way to obtain professional advice on a limited set of issues such as retirement planning, investment diversification, or insurance needs.
Services Include:
- A preparation meeting to discuss your concerns and financial goals
- Review and analysis of your situation
- An interactive planning session with a CFP® professional to address either:
- Integrated investment management and 2 of the following main areas of concern:
ORFinancial Goals (retirement planning, education funding, travel, etc.) Philanthropy & Charitable Giving Cash & Debt Management Estate Planning Overall Insurance Review Taxes - A Portfolio Review and Financial Goals (or another of the above areas).
- Integrated investment management and 2 of the following main areas of concern:
- Specific written recommendations on your chosen areas
- Answers to related questions you may have regarding these topics
- Resources and materials to implement the recommendations
- Telephone and email assistance for up to 10 days after meeting
- A follow-up phone call to check your progress about 3 months later
Does Not Include:
- A comprehensive financial plan on your overall situation
- Tax preparation, the preparation of legal documents, or investment implementation (if a Portfolio Review is chosen)
Many times, traditional brokerage firms will provide a "free" financial plan and then recommend the purchase of commission-based mutual funds or annuities to "pay" for their time. We can provide better objective advice for less than the traditional brokers. For example, the cost of the Focus Plan will probably be less than the sales charge (commission) you would pay on a $20,000 investment into a load mutual fund.
The full cost can also be applied towards a Comprehensive Financial Review within 30 days of the service.
At the complimentary meeting, we will set up the Preparation Meeting and explain what documents we need for your review. At the Preparation Meeting, please deliver all requested documents, a check for half of the fee, and be ready to discuss your concerns and goals in the chosen areas. The meeting for your Focus Plan (interactive financial planning session) will be scheduled approximately 7-10 days later. This meeting will run no longer than 2.5 hours. The remaining balance will be collected at that time.
