Blue Water was built around a vision of independence, a client-first business approach, and a relentless pursuit of delivering value through 'best practices'.
We utilize many versatile technologies and outsource partners to run an efficient practice. These efficiencies ultimately translate into better service and lower costs for our clients.
We enjoy meeting with clients face-to-face, but realize that such meetings are not always possible or practical. Sometimes you may be on the go, but that doesn’t mean our services have to stop. We have the capacity to accommodate distant clients, frequent flyers, and clients just too busy to come in. Email, e-fax, web conferencing, and traditional phone calls keep communication flowing and you up-to-date. In addition, we can set you up with a few secure web-based applications so you can access your financial plan and portfolio information anywhere, any time.
Blue Water uses the services of many outsource partners as well. Some of these include data administration, web and technology support, and administrative services. This allows us to concentrate our efforts on the things we do best – financial planning, portfolio management, and client service.
Terrance A. Green, CFP®, AIF®
Terry Green is the Managing Director of Blue Water Capital Management, LLC, a fee-only financial advisory firm located in San Diego, California. Mr. Green is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER ® professional (CFP), and is well versed in the areas that constitute comprehensive financial planning. Clients benefit from his educational and interactive planning approach. They also benefit from his Recommended Action Checklist, a detailed, step-by-step list of specific recommendations, and his periodic progress check-ups.
As an Accredited Investment Fiduciary ® (AIF), Terry is educated on the best practices of fiduciary responsibility. This is a specialized designation that focuses on fiduciary standards of care when managing investments.
Mr. Green has served on the Board of Directors for the non-profit organization Volunteer San Diego. He is currently involved with their Social Enterprise committee. Mr. Green has also served on the Board of Directors for The Financial Planning Association (FPA) of San Diego where he still holds membership. He is also a member of the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors (NAPFA), an exclusive organization of fee-only financial planners.
Terry is currently enrolled in the Master's of Science - Entrepreneurship Program at San Diego State University studying small business management and succession planning. He holds a BBA in Finance and Management Information Systems from Ohio University. His career began with McDonald & Company working in the areas of portfolio administration, fixed-income trading, and financial planning. In 2000, Terry became 'enlightened' and left the Wall Street world to begin working as an independent financial advisor.
Mr. Green is a periodic columnist for the Del Mar Village Voice, Carmel Valley News, and Rancho Santa Fe Review. His other media appearances include The San Diego Union Tribune, Money, Kiplinger's, and Investment News. He and his wife live in San Diego and enjoy a variety of outdoor activities.
Christian A. Kropf
Christian Kropf is the Project Manager for Blue Water Capital Management, LLC. He assists in portfolio management, financial planning, and various firm projects. His organizational and detail-oriented skill set compliments his role at the firm.
Mr. Kropf received his Bachelor’s degree from Case Western Reserve University. He also has a Master’s degree from the University of Reno, Nevada. His education and project management experience are valuable assets to Blue Water.
Mr. Kropf has always had a passion for financial planning. Currently, he is studying to be a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER ® professional (CFP). Christian and his wife enjoy traveling and a variety of outdoor activities.
